My Birthday Treat

 

 

 

 

I had a lovely birthday today. David surprised me and treated me to a beautiful evening on the Star of Honolulu sunset cruise. It was awesome. He even had a limo come and pick us up at the house. Everything was perfect. We had a 7 course meal with live entertainment and of course, spectacular views of Waikiki, Diamond Head and the sunset. I didn't want my night to end......I felt like Cinderella. :)

 

 

 

Flowers in Hawaii

 

 

 

 

Every day I find myself stopping to smell or look at all the beautiful and unique flowers of Hawaii. While walking through the Honolulu Zoo, I saw these flowers and thought they were gorgeous. Hope you do too!

Caitlin's Birthday

 

 

 

We celebrated Caitlin's 9th birthday yesterday and had a nice time. We spent the day at the Zoo and the evening at home sharing some time with our friends, The Blakes, and brada Cameron.

Caitlin invited her friends Azaysha and Kiara over yesterday to dance in the backyard. The new craze is "High School Musical II" and the soundtrack was playing full blast when they were playing outside. The girls were so cute trying to move the way the characters did in the Disney Movie.

Big Island with Aunty Rose

 

 

 

 

This past weekend Aunty Rose and I headed to Big Island to attend one of our many Kaupu family reunion meetings. I had a really nice time with her and as usual, Hilo was beautiful. It's such a sleepy kind of home town that I love escaping to. Aunty Rose is the perfect person to go with because she remembers so much about our family and it's origin there. It's like rediscovering my roots when I'm with her in Hilo. We took some time out to visit with her brothers, her mom and dad, and other relatives buried in a very peaceful and beautiful cemetary up on a hill overlooking Hilo Bay. Aunty Diane and my cousin Hazel took us up there to place some flowers on their graves. They are faithful in cleaning and maintaining the sites for the families.

While on a 3 week break, Caitlin and I have a lot planned out. Yesterday we went to Dave and Busters to play games and she won 3500 tickets. This allowed her to buy a lot of junk!!!
We also spent a half hour at Pet Central and she got to play with a puppy that she loved. He was so cute.

My baby has moved out!!

 

 

 

 

My son Cameron has moved out and it's so hard to know he's on his own now. I know I have to let him spread his wings but I feel like I want to clip them so he doesn't go too far. :)
I miss my baby but I am so proud of him for being so independent and brave to go out on his own.
They grow up so fast and I don't know if I was really prepared for this. I don't think any mother is.
I'll miss you my son.....and loving you every minute you're gone.
